Earring
This earring is one of a pair that my partner gave me early in our relationship. It was the perfect present – they looked distinctive and a little bit retro – reminiscent of Habitat in the 1970s. I loved them to bits and wore them all the time. They went with everything and I was gutted when I lost one.
I searched every corner of the house before I eventually asked him to get me a new pair of earrings for Christmas. He did and the new ones are fabulous. But much as I love them I still missed the original pair. Then after 8 weeks of lockdown I went to stay with my daughter and granddaughter. While I was there we moved all the furniture around in her spare room/home office. There in the dust under the bed was my missing earring. I’m over the moon.
